The Mets played crisp, flawless, beautiful baseball last night and looked every bit the team that piled up 97 wins in the regular season.  Coming off a 4-game winning streak to end the regular season, the Mets have quietly racked up 6 straight victories.

Be it pistols at dawn or swords at dusk, this Met team has shown they can beat you using a variety of weapons.  In Game 1 we traded punches and had enough on the board to win a sloppy fight. Throughout the season we won street brawls, just slugging our opponents into submission.  Last night we played small-ball to perfection.  Scoring on a ground out, a sac fly, a Fielders choice and a single, the boys in orange and blue grinded out 4 runs for Tom Glavine and the old man did the rest.

Scattering 4 hits over 6 strong innings, Tom Glavine showed he still has plenty left in the tank.  He handed the pen a 4 run lead.  As they have shown so many times before, you do not want to spot us 4 runs going into the 7th.    Felicaino closed the door in the 7th, looking extremely sharp in the process.  Heilman yielded a long ball but looked sharp and Wagner closed the door in the 9th converting his 18th save opportunity in a row…the 26th out of his last 28.

Its 2-0 Mets and the Dodgers have to be scratching their heads as to what they have to do to beat this very deep, very strong, very versatile Mets machine.
