Re: Who's the biggest optimist in the bunch?

As Met fans, we're conditioned to hope for the best but expect the worst. I could win a World Series with the All-stars who have come to this team via trade/free agency and promptly turned into Joe Foy. That being said, even a blind squirrel finds a nut on occasion. I believe that all the attention being paid to Pedro's hurtin digit is overblown. The guy pitches hurt all the time and wins. This year will be no exception. Since Pedro (as everyone seems to agree) is the key to a successfull season and I'm assuming any other injuries are short-term in nature, I am going out on a limb here and predicting 96-66 and first place in the division. I also see the team from down south finishing third. Quite honestly, picking them to finish first like everyone else only because they win every year and until proven otherwise....well, it's plain stupid. To many young players with limited big-league experience and 2 key players (Larry Jones and Smoltzy) another year older. I actually think the Phils are finishing second. But then again, as a Met fan.....
